Pretty Birds

A quilt as you go design.

Single bed quilt measuring: 165 x 185 cm (65” x 72”)

A combination of triangles and simple fusible appliqué create this happy design that would brighten up any room. Pattern includes the matching cushion.

Quilt Requirements:

Strippy Triangles:                   25 cm (¼ y) each of 11 prints

Large blue print triangles:       1.05 m (1 ¼ y)

Large green print triangles:    1. 05 m (1 ¼ y

Pink horizontal border strips:  1 m (1 y)

White appliqué background:   85 cm (1 y)

Birds:                                       10 cm (1/8 y) each of 6 fabrics (or fat eights)

Dark green for bias stems:     30 cm (1/3 y)

Backing:                                  4 m (4 ½ y)

Binding:                                   75 cm (3/4 y)

Double sided fusible cotton batting:   2 m (2 ¼ y)

The leaves and berries can be cut from left over strippy triangle fabric

Cushion Requirements

There is sufficient fabric for the cushion front and binding.

Cushion lining (Can be plain as it won’t be seen): 55 cm (21”) square

Cushion back: 50 cm (½ y)

3 x buttons

Please Note:

A 12” / 60-degree triangle ruler is required to make this quilt.
